    Save answers in a long form and exit. Return to form, change answers, save/exit. Return to form - changes not saved.

    First created a link to a saved form using this form http://form.jotform.us/form/30504792376154 

    After completing, it creates a unique link to this form.

    Made selections on page two for [P/LG 1] Highest Education Level {plg1152} and [P/LG 1] Employment Status

    f {plg1145}

     Made selections and then saved and exited the form.  I returned to the form and changed the selections for these two fields and saved and exited again.  When I return to the form, the original selections for those two fields are displayed and not the selections made after the initial save.  

    How can a user return to the form and make changes to their original selections and have the changes saved prior to a submit?

    Hello,

    I tested the form a number of times - and the data was saved each time I clicked on "save and continue"

    To be sure that the data has been saved, you will see the page saving out the data through a number of indications -

    There are environmental factors that could cause the form information not to be saved when you click the 'save and continue', which is why its important to go back and verify answers before exiting the form to continue it later.

    So, to answer your question - Ideally  - the data modified a second time should have been saved - to be sure it does - look out for the indications on the form as shown in the illustration.

    While the form is being accessed, the "changed" information appears correct as you navigate between pages.  So it appears the changes are being accepted flipping back and forth.  But once I exit the form completely and return at a later time to continue adding information; the changes that previously were there have switched back to the original value/selection.

    It is mainly with specific field types (radio button selections) as mentioned in the original post above.  Some of the text fields are actually updating and saving the content even after a form exit and subsequent return.

    Radio button selection changes may or may not save after exiting the form completely and returning, even when Save and Continue appear to have accepted the updated value selection before exiting the form completely.   Most of the time, the radio button changes are reverting back to the original value shown prior to the most recent selection change/ save/ exit.

    It would be nice to know how to ensure each value change is saved and re-appears after a complete form exit (prior to Submit) and subsequent return.

    Thank you for the clarification.

    I'm thinking this may have to do with browser caching - I have noticed the same behavior while testing multiple forms that my browser remembers what I had filled in the form -

    Since I cannot reproduce the issue from my end - would you mind helping to narrow down the cause?

    Please try the following:

    1. Make the changes on the session, save and exit.

    2. Copy the session URL to a different browser from the one you made the changes with

    3. Are the changes still reflected as an older version - and not the latest changes you made?

    If yes - then I might need the counsel of our developers.

    I first used a Chrome browser to access the form.  I made changes and selected the save and continue.  I exited the Chrome browser and used the unique link with the session={email} in the Internet Explorer version 11 browser window and the form appears blank.  No data was transfered or saved.  

    I tested it again by changing the default Browser to Internet Explorer through the control panel.  Chose IE as the browser to access my webmail and clicked the forms link from the email I received and again, the form displayed as blank, none of the fields contained data.

    I returned to the Chrome browser and clicked the link and the form displayed with the original data that was entered but not the changes/updates that were saved.

    Here are at least two issues:

    1. Enabled Autofill option on the form #2.

    The Session method is not compatible with the Autofill method, since they are conflicting between each other due to the different technologies used.

    Please disable the Autofill option if you would like to use the session method.

    2. Your Link URL values are not complete on the Thank You page and Autoresponder of form #1.

    When it should be: https://secure.jotform.us/form/30636617794160?session={yourEmail}

    Please use the full links to fix this.

    Thank you for your assistance!  Afetr applying the changes you suggested, the forms are now working as expected.
