Hi, I submitted a query to Jotform regarding editing previous records held in an integrated Google sheet. The edit would need to be done using the mobile collection device. Is this possibl? The query was generated 4 days ago on 19/11/2021.

    Hi there,

You can edit submissions from a mobile device as well. From the mobile app, you just need to open the submissions list for a particular form and then edit it by clicking the edit icon displayed on top right corner of the submission.

If you have this form integrated with the GSheet, it will update the sheet as well with the new values.

If you have any questions, let us know.

    Thank you!

    Hi Patrick,
Now I know that this is possible, all I need now is the methodology. Your reply assumes I know what a “submissions list” is. I haven’t a clue what this looks like. Can you direct me to a set of instructions please?
    Kind regards

    Hello,

Once you click on the form in the list of form you have in the app, you will be presented with a few options.

Click on the first one Submissions. It will open the submission list.

Once in the submission list, you can click on the icon shown below in red to edit the submission:

Is this a function of central control OR is it open to the person who has collected the information in the first place. Bear in mind this person collecting the data could be many hundreds of miles away.

The screenshot above is not familiar to me. How do I get to that page. Will the person doing the survey have access to the page in the screenshot through their mobile device?

    Thanks

    Hi,

The screenshot above can be accessed if you are the owner of the form.

Could you please explain how your workflow works and why you need the user to update the submissions for us to provide a suitable solution?

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Hi Basil,
I’ve attached a flow of the scenario. It’s not difficult… all I’m asking is “Can the person collecting the records then go on to edit or delete records from a previous day using the mobile collection device?” If this can’t be done through Jotform then I’ll have to find a solution outside of Jotform.

    @assets55ltd

IF you or your sub-user have access to the submissions. the answer to your question is "YES", You and your sub-user can edit or delete your submissions

    Hi Ken,

I sent you an email with screenshot attachments showing the steps I took but unfortunately it didn't work because the edit form was blank. It didn't populate with the previously captured data. Here's the email and screenshots.

I’ve attempted to edit using the instructions from:-

    https://www.jotform.com/help/325-how-to-edit-submissions-made-on-your-forms/

The form opened but was blank. I’ve attached the screenshots of steps taken:-

    1. Accessing the Submissions form
    2. Selecting the record to edit
    3. The form opens but is blank. None of the previously collected information gets populated in the form.

    Hi there,

Our apologies for the confusion. Please find answer to your concern below:

Yes, this is possible. We have a feature in which you can assign a form to a specific user. Assigned users can make submissions and can also edit their submissions at a later date; right from our Mobile app.

Please note that the assigned users will need a FREE Jotform account with which they'll log in to the Jotform app. After creating the account, they'll also need to click the verify email link to confirm their email address.

Following is how you can assign a form to users:

You can read more about this here: adding-assignees-to-your-form

Please give it a try. If you come across any questions or if this doesn't solve your purpose, let us know.

    Thank you!

Hi Patrick, this still doesn't work for me. I've followed the example as per https://www.jotform.com/help/325-how-to-edit-submissions-made-on-your-forms/

but after hitting the EDIT menu item I'm presented with a blank form. None of the previously entered information is populated.

Please see my previous thread dated 29/11/2021.

Additionally, I tried the method of editing as per https://www.jotform.com/help/40-how-to-let-users-update-their-form-submissions-at-a-later-date/

I made a submission and duly received the email:-

1638967632_61b0a95048640_ This gives me the option to EDIT the data entered. After clicking on the "edit this submission" I was presented with a blank form (see below image). None of the previously entered data had been populated.

You are following the right process but the edit link should be opened with the EU domain as you have stored your data in EU servers.

Are you able to see the data in this link:

    https://eu.jotform.com/edit/5147764423524240145

Meanwhile, I'll also ask my EU colleagues to take a look at your case.

    Thanks.

I'm sorry, but this is getting silly now. You can see from the length of this thread that I'm no further forward in resolving this issue. How am I supposed to know the difference between a EU server and some other server?

I clicked on the link you've provided and this is what was returned:-

    1638968913_61b0ae5128a6a_

    Yes - Another blank form.

Can you tell me where I need to specify which server I'm supposed to direct the email please.

    Hello,

I have been able to solve the issue.

Simply put, you have an input mask for the phone validation which says:

I've been locked out of my account with a message "Try again in a few hours." WHAT DOES THAT MEAN? Please define "FEW" Stupid system... Just like t

It makes the form glitch. remove it, put a normal input mask and things will work normally.

    Best regards

Well spotted. I'd never have thought that a misplace "copy paste" would have such a consequence.

    Thanks so much.
