Hide and Show conditional statements (actions) not working as expected

Asked by milbra on March 31, 2014 at 02:34 PM

Conditional Statement not working as I want.

I want to determine the best way to contact the user, phone or email.  I set that up as radio buttons  When empty (just loaded), I don't want the user to see pnone or email text boxes.  I initially tried the 1st conditional statements, but when that didn't work I tried the 2nd.  I've tried to set up the condition 2 ways:

    1st Conditions tried
    1. Show phone text box if phone selected
    2. Show email text box if email selected

    2nd Conditions tried
    1. Show phone text box and hide email if phone selected
    2. Show email text box and hide phone if email selected

In both cases, phone and email are shown no matter which option is selected.  I have emptied the cache thinking there might be an issue there... no luck.  This happens in both Firefox and IE.

    What am I doing wrong?

    Thank you for contacting us.

Let me please inform you that corresponding Hide rules are being automatically executed. In other words, you do not need to add these Hide actions to your conditions.

So that we can stick with the Show actions only:

    Example:

That's what I tried originally. That's what I meant by...

    1st Conditions tried
    1. Show phone text box if phone selected
    2. Show email text box if email selected

It didn't work. I tried again after your reply...  still doesn't work

Yes, the following setup is correct:

    1. Show phone text box if phone selected
    2. Show email text box if email selected

However, you will also need to delete your condition with Hide actions:

Please give it a try. Thank you.
