Account does not timeout even after leaving it overnight

    Hello.

    It appears that Jotform has no session timeout? I've searched online and have seen multiple questions to Jotform about this, with several different answers. When I am in the Jotform table view, I can leave my machine on overnight and still access the table the next morning.

    Is there a setting or something that can be done to enable session timeouts? This would provide stronger data security.

    Please note that when you log in to your Jotform account, you will remain logged in as long as there is some activity in a form or table. If there is no activity detected, you will be logged out automatically in 2 hours if you try to access the form or table again.

    Do you mean to say that when you leave your table open all night, you are not being logged out from your Jotform account?

    Please let us know and we will escalate it to our backend team

    That is correct. When I leave my table open all night (and I am away from my machine), I am not being logged out from my Jotform account.

    Hello,

    Thank you for the additional information. Could you also kindly reconfirm if you were able to access other form after leaving your Tables open all night, and that even after refreshing the page (where your Tables is), you would still be able to access your Tables without logging in? 

    We will need this information before escalating it to our back-end team.

    Jessica,

    I tried it again to be sure. I left my machine on overnight (approximately 14 hours, unattended). I had left a browser tab open to the table, and another tab open to the form. My machine lost VPN connection overnight and I had to log in again this morning, but was still able to access the table AND submit a form to it. I also tried refreshing and was still able to access both the table and the form. No login required.

    Hello Jason,

    Tables can only be accessed by the form owners; provided, they're logged-in.

    However, if the same table is shared publicly; then, it is possible for anyone to view its data; this doesn't require login.

    As far as I can check, your table view is working as expected; I wasn't able to access it if logged out. You can test this yourself too; please logout of your Jotform account and then test this table.

    This ticket was originally opened regarding session timeout. It's my understanding that there should be a timeout after 2 hours of inactivity. This is not the case. Jessica asked me a follow-up question so she could escalate the issue to the back-end. My last response was in answer to Jessica's question.

    Both the table and the form DO require login to use, but no time-out is occurring, even if the session is left open overnight. This is a security problem for us.
