What Are Jotform's Backup and Restoration Protocols?

    Team,

I am a Silver Account owner who has assigned forms to many different free Jotform accounts. While I would never anticipate an issue, what types of protocols are in place should:

    1) A form ever become corrupted or cease working appropriately

    2) A form becomes lost or mysteriously disappears

Since data is attached to every form, how would a user recover from a situation where the form either becomes unusable or disappears? As we use this solution over time, each form will accumulate hundreds to thousands of records, simply starting over with a new form and no data is not an option. Hoping you have ways to restore data to forms, should any of these types of situations arise?

    Hi,

Thank you for reaching out Jotform Support.

You can integrate your forms using different cloud storage such as google drive or dropbox in order for you to have back up of the submissions on your forms. In other way, you can also export them from the Data Section of your account settings that shows below:

    Additionally,

If you wanted to create a back-up your forms as well as its submission data you can use our Back-Up Web App. If it happened that you accidentally deleted you forms (but you can always find your deleted forms in Trash panel to recover and restore it) this app can help you creating back-up of your forms and copy it back to your Jotform account.

This service mainly connects to your Jotform account and you can now create back-ups of all the forms and submission data you have. This back-up will be restored in our database.

Please take a look at the animation below on how to use this web a

The back-up Utility is awesome! Just 1 or 2 more follow-up questions:

    1) Is it the intent to make the back-up operation manual, as in, you go in....select forms....and hit back-up whenever you want? What about a routine back-up, like daily or weekly?

    2) Can the back-up operation be set up/scheduled to re-occur at the same day or time each interval automatically (ie - I know that back-ups are done each night at midnight for all forms, etc)?

If this is simply a periodic manual save option, it is not nearly as useful, as backups are almost never done just prior to...or in anticipation of a disaster. If left to someone to do manually, they could get busy, forget, etc, meaning the nearest backup is from 2-4 weeks ago. Hoping there is a way to assign forms and schedule a routine backup here?

    Hello,

Unfortunately, the backup has to be done manually. Currently, there's no option yet for this to be done automatically or routinely. The other option for your form data to be backed up automatically is by integrating another cloud storage service into the form like Google Drive, Dropbox, Google Sheets, etc. Like what my colleague has mentioned, after each submission, the data will automatically be saved on these platforms.

However, you may also forward any of your suggestions and feedback about our Backup service on this page.

Let us know if you have any further questions or concerns.

    Regards,
