Is there any file size limit for transfers made directly to an FTP server?

Asked by C. on August 11, 2011 at 06:18 PM

If my understanding is correct, the file size limit for transfers made through JotForm to Dropbox is 100 MB. Does the same restriction apply to transfers made directly to any FTP server? Please let me know. Thank you very much! C.

    Hi Christi

I have uploaded a 120MB file to a sample form which is configured to send uploads to my ftp server. The result? A resounding success.

I haven't tried uploading a bigger file though, so for now I think 100MB-ish files are safe. Btw, If I remember correctly, the 100MB restriction with Jotform-Dropbox integration has to do with the Dropbox API, although I am not 100% sure. I will have to verify that.

You may go ahead and try uploading a bigger file yourself. You can test using this form under my account so you won't have problems with the 100MB limit for free users. I will let you know if it comes through. Thanks!
