    Empty conditional fields

Asked by lshad24 on August 18, 2011 at 05:19 PM

I have a set of conditional fields that only appear if necessary (user needs to add another reservation).  When a user fills out the form, the optional fields get submitted to the spreadsheet.  Can I set this to ignore submitting any field that is blank?

    Hi,

Sorry but I don't think there's any workaround to this. All fields in a form, conditional or not, get their own column in the submissions database. It makes sense actually - there should be a column where a filled out optional field is placed, right?

However, if you're concerned about the blank fields in the notification e-mails sent, there is a workaround to this. I have discussed this workaround in the similar thread linked below:

    Conditional Fields in Notification Email

Hope you find that thread useful. Let me know if you have follow-up questions. Thanks!
