Translate "Please Select" in the dropdown field

Hi,

I created a form in 4 different languages and the dropdown always shows the English words "Please select". Is there a setting to change that to the selected language?

Aditionally, our target groups are around the world. Do they see the form in their native language, when they open the form in their country, or do they always have to select the language?

Thank you for reaching out to Jotform Support. When I accessed this form, the default language set is English UK. The form does not automatically change its language based on the user's location that's why you have the option to set the default language yourself.

Please provide us with the URL of the forms that show Please Select instead of the default language. We'll be waiting for your response.

We've gone ahead and escalated your request to our developers, but when or if it's developed depends on their workload, how viable it is, and how many other users also request it. If there are any updates, we’ll circle back to this thread and let you know.

We really appreciate your patience and understanding. This feature has been added. The "Please Select" text will be displayed in the selected language when the new dropdown element is added. In addition, translations in desired languages can be added via the translation screen.

To be available for existing dropdowns, the dropdown placeholder value should be set to default. You can set it in the Dropdown Properties easily. Check out the steps and screencast below to see how it's done:

1. Go to the Dropdown Properties
2. Click on the Options Tab on the top menu
3. Disable the "Show Text in Empty" option
