How to attach form submission to asana task?

    Hello,

I've created a form, and setup the integration so that a new task is created in Asana off the back of a form being submitted.

How do I add the form submission (as a PDF) to the Asana task, through the integration tool on jotform?

    Kind regards

    Hello BusinessCatalyst,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Unfortunately, that is not currently possible with Asana integration. It can only accept file uploads through the form. One possible workaround is to convert an email into an Asana task by following this guide. Simply create a new email notification in your form, enable PDF Attachment, and then set the asana email as the recipient.

I have also escalated this as a feature request, once this is implemented in the future, we will inform you here.

Please let us know if you require any additional assistance.

    Thank you for your response.

I have followed your instructions, but can’t get it working; the email is not sending to Asana to create a task.

That said, I have successfully setup the integration between JotForm and Asana to create a task on submission of a form. I just can’t add the PDF to the task via that method…

    Kind regards

    Hello,

Thanks for getting back to us.  Currently, it is not possible to include the PDF submission to Asana Integration. My colleague has already sent a feature request to our backend team.

Please note that we can't give an ETA for when this will be implemented. Feature requests depend on the workloads of our developers and popularity among our users. But rest assured we will inform you once this feature becomes available.

Should you have any other concerns, kindly let us know.

    Thank you for clarifying.

Can you please give some guidance on your colleagues suggestion: ''Simply create a new email notification in your form, enable PDF Attachment, and then set the asana email as the recipient.''

Which I cannot get to work.

    Thanks

    Hi BusinessCatalyst,

Unfortunately, I am not familiar with Asana or the method provided by my colleague, to send an email to Asana to turn it into a task.

However, please reach out to Asana support to further assist you, as I can see that there are additional steps that should be set up on your account in Asana:

Thank you for your understanding, but please do let us know if there's anything we can do from Jotform's end.

    Hello,

FYI - I have been on with Asana support who have explained why this method won't work. I thought this would be useful for you to know:

This actually will not work! When someone fills out the form a notification will be send by an @jotfrom.com email address, as that email address is not connected with your account in Asana it will not be possible to create a task for you. The email will get rejected as, you are not seeing the rejection because the rejection will be send to the @jotform.com email address.

Basically the email that you have set in Asana to create Asana task via email needs to match the email address/domain the notification is coming from, this is due to SPF policies that are in place.
