How can I change the field value of a checkmark box?

After reading this post (http://www.jotform.com/answers/310175), it seems to me as if the only way I can change a checkbox field value is by editing the source code. Is that correct? If so, how can I make this a request for future improvements so that I can use Jot's WYSIWYG to change the value?

Four instance for our form we have a question "Would you like to receive an email newsletter?" If the visitor clicks checkmark, it signifies they do you want to receive it. However, in using the SalesForce API/integration, they require a 0 or a 1 for the value of the field.

    Thank you.

    Hi,

You can assign calculation values to your check boxes under the options for the check box.  Click on the field and then click on the gear in the corner.  From there you can assign each box its own calculation value:
