Twitter detects JotForm link as phishing attack when posting/visiting? Please HELP!

Asked by smackhighevents on August 10, 2014 at 12:04 PM

Hey guys, anyone know what's up with these error messages on Twitter?

I have my JotForm Form link placed in the Twitter bios of my Twitter accounts for my followers to submit content (shown first below), and recently I have NOT been able to:

    1) POST the actual link of the Form in a post (shown second below), and

    2) My followers have been deterred from submitting due to the recurring phishing message (shown third below)

Jotform link that is placed in the "Website" field of all my Twitter accounts:

"Tweet not sent" warning when trying to post the same link in a tweet:

Phishing warning when visiting link (occurs on all devices and all browsers):

This is deterring my followers from submitting content for me to post, and is thus hindering the success and growth of my company, and their trust with my brand at the same time. Their submissions are the primary content drivers of the day-to-day operation, so as you may imagine, this is a huge hit and disappointment.

Look forward to a swift and thorough solution/response!

    Thanks!

    Frank

Unfortunately, I'm not entirely sure that there is anything we can do about that on our end since your form is working here on our end within JotForm as well as via it's direct link as normal.

I was able to replicate the issue and see the error you have mentioned but that is a warning that was placed on your form by Twitter. However, if you look closely you will see that the warning can be ignored if people wish to continue and use your form.

But still, this is entirely an issue with Twitter which is unrelated to us as we have no control over what is flagged by their company. In my opinion I think you have likely had several visitors reporting your link as spam. So because of that it then probably lead to Twitter placing a warning notice on it to advise against using the form link.

At this point I think the best thing to do would be to contact Twitter and see what they say about it and explain your intentions behind your form. You can then change the form accordingly to meet their standards (if any) and negate that problem.
