Quotation Marks - Causing Text Problem - Written Data In Reports UnreadableAsked by markashton on August 26, 2014 at 05:09 AM
The following quotation mark symbol is causing gobbledy gook on my reports etc ... and I've had a complaint about it ...
I've got a client going through all their data ... they pay me for this ... but this symbol is causing a problem.
I also note that all emails are handling this quote mark in the same way.
Can you advise plaese ... I mean it must be happening to everyone yeah?
Ok ... this problem was not happening on Friday ... I've looked at fridays emails (notifier's etc) and everything was fine.
Have you been screwing with things again?
I'm getting some flack about this ... I need a quick solution.
Oh NOOO !!!
I've got loads of edit submissions going on ... as we speak ... and people all emailing me that they can't do it .... so it's on all form entries when you click edit submission ... this is always f*****g happening ... something going wrong with your form builder at the critical moment.
Sorry, slightly stressed about this ... please let me know status. I'd be most grateful
We are truly sorry about this. I was able to replicate it on my end. I have now submitted a ticket to our 2nd level about this issue.
It seems it's happening for both Excel and CSV reports.
Well its screwed me up. I can tell you that.
No doubt you've been frigging around with amends and changes ... and this has royally screwed me up with a client as respondents are seeing all this typo crap and nopt doing the 'in the moment' survey.
You lose nothing ... I lose everything.
Please tell me this ... is someone fixing this now?
We are sorry about this and I understand your frustration because you are facing your clients and not us. Our development team are working so hard to improve Jotform and some commits could conflict the other and that could break some of the functions.
I have already submitted a ticket to our 2nd level but this is not yet assigned to any of our devs. Once this has been assigned this thread will be updated if fix has been applied. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
Sorry I'm not interested ... it keeps happening
I'm not bothered about what the development team are doing ... this is a bug that renders jotform crappy for everyone. Anyone who uses Quotation marks in submissions etc ... garbage.
I want it fixed ... NOW please before I lose this client as I've had trouble with your system with them before.
Tell Aytekin ... or anyone ... if this isn't fixed I can't use you again ... because when there is something critical you are not in a position to respond in a reasonable timeframe.
Would you be kind enough to flag this with Aytekin please.
Aytekin just assigned this to Alp and marked as very important, you should receive a reply soon once fixed has been applied.
Ok, the problem is terrible for me because the Edit Link function is causing havoc.
Respondents are pressing the edit link and any character is creating this wonderful effect.
Sorry but its screwed this project ... as it relies on the Edit Link function ... and respondents are all confused. Look at this for nighmare from a test form I've created
I haven't tested that earlier, just now. I was able to recreate the problem with edit link. Thank you for letting us know. I have updated this thread with the "Edit_Link" problem with quotation mark.
Based on my test Text Area is the only one affected.
We have fixed the issue promptly. Please accept our apologies.
