What if a field is required, but hidden by a condition?

If a field is required but hidden based on a previous answer, will this be a problem? I'd prefer not to have to set conditional requirements to each response (I'm using a lot of conditions). Setting everything to required would be much easier, but not if it locks things up (since people wouldn't answer otherwise "required" answers). I could test this myself, but I want to make sure I'm not missing something that will mess up later.

If a field is hidden by a condition, then the required status of that particular field gets void. User will not be able fill in this field and can submit the form without this field. If the user has to fill the field it should be displayed on the form.

Perfect! Yes- clear answer, and the one I was hoping for! That means I should be able to mark everything as required and not worry about them not being able to submit because hidden questions are "required".
