    Column widths not updating in preview or web page.

    Asked by spolinsky on September 12, 2011 at 12:30 PM

    I used the script .form-checkbox-item { width: 215px;} to spread the width of columns of my form. It shows perfectly on the edit page, but it does not propagate to the preview or the web page. The preview and web pages update if I change other things, like the number of columns in a check box, but the width will not change. What do I need to do to get this to work?

    This is an update to my prior question, which I asked without being logged in. There is a preview for this page here: http://bethdavidsynagogue-org.myhostcontrol.com/~bethdavi/volunteer/

    You can see that in the "committees" section, the columns are not as wide as they are in the preview. Note that this form is not in my account; it's in the client's paid account, form call: http://www.jotform.com/jsform/12530006232

    Hi there,

    Thank you for using JotForm!

    I've tried checking and replicating the issue on our end and everything seems to be normal. Have you tried clearing your cache? I suggest you empty your cache, restart the browser, visit your site, and see if it helps. If this does not work, you can also try using iFrame embedding method instead.

    Any updates regarding your issue would be much appreciated.

    Albert, I took the link to Adobe Browser labs to avoid cache issues (also cleared the cache). The columns are NOT resizing; I don't know how you're seeing something different than we see at Browser labs. Can you send a screenshot?

    Hi there,

    I want to correct myself from my last post. I am referring to the form in Jotform's browser preview, while you're talking about the form in the JotForm's form builder itself. I really do apologize for the confusion. Anyway, I do see the irregularities now and I've already ran a test for it to be verified. I will try to forward this to our developers so that they can look into it deeper.

    Again, we apologize for any inconvenience this has brought you. Thank you for your patience.

    I had this problem and managed to find a workaround.

    Use the code !important in the CSS after where you declare the width. e.g.

    .form-checkbox-item { width: 215px !improtant;}

    Seems like it might be a hierarchy issue, maybe width is being declared after the CSS?

    Hope this helps.
