How can i edit a form that was already created and keep the same link adress?

Asked by ualv on September 13, 2011 at 08:19 AM

    I there.

I had some forms that where online on my enterprise site. I remeber that if that was some kind of problem with it, i could edit the form. After that, if someone went to the same form that keaped the same link, it could fill the form with the new version.

For instance, if a field must be in numeric and it was alfabetical, i coul edit the form, keep the same web adress and change to numeric. I did not had to change the link adress.

Now i can't do that, can you help me?

    Best regards

    Hi Pedro,

You can actually make any changes in your form and edit it as many times as you want, but you get to keep your form's URL so you do not need to make any changes with the embed code that you used.

Sometimes, we advise other members to change the URL from http://form.jotform.com/form/<11-digit form ID> to http://www.jotform.com/form/<11-digit form ID> because there are times that the changes do not take effect quickly. So if you observe any delays on the implementation of the changes in your live form, this tip will help.

Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns. Thank you for using JotForm!

Hi there. The problem continues. When i edit a form it does not get updated in the web site.

http://form.jotform.com/ualv/12561221210   it's on myforms ---- you van see the Title - TESTE

Then i edit the title to  - TESTEXXX

Go to Setup & Embed and i see http://form.jotform.com/form/12561221210 . When i go to the Visualize on "my forms" it appears http://form.jotform.com/ualv/12561221210. So the Embed link is not the same as in the Visualize?

I think this is the problem.

It's possible to custom the URL as i did. But i does not update in the site. To do the needed update, badly, i've got to save the form with a new url adress.

    Hi ualv,

Please try to use this URL instead: http://www.jotform.com/ualv/12561221210 and let us know if the changes appear this time or not.

    We'll await your response soon.

    Hi again,

The link given by you works (http://www.jotform.com/ualv/12561221210) . When i go to the edit, i changed some stuff and when i refreshed the web adress , the changes happened.

But..."there's always a but"...on myforms, going to visualize the web adress stays the same prior to the edit. I mean, if i want to edit...e see the changes, then going to visualize it...the url is not the same.

I realy appreciate your effort, thanks.

    Hi Pedro

There is a known issue where there is a delay in updates to previews on the My Forms page but if the form is loaded into the form builder and the preview button there is clicked, you will see whatever updates that were applied immediately. The two preview links use different addresses: The one on the My Forms page uses the form.jotform.com URL while the other one uses www.jotform.com.

Hopefully this helps to clarify things.
