Wonky widgets (Terms of Service widget to be specific)

Hello, I have a theory question.

I had the Terms of Service widget on my forms for a while, but I had so many people tell me they filled out the form but neither they nor I received an email notifier/responder.  I had inquired about this problem and I was advised to remove the widget and replace it with a check box.  Which I did and it seems like all the forms are going through now.

So, my question is, why did the widget make the forms malfunction/fail and why does JotForm offer faulty options that cause failure?

    Thanks,

    Julie

Ah-ha!  I'm not the only one... I'd still like an answer though.  Thank you.

    Hi,

This seems to have been caused by Terms and conditions widget.

If you remove them for now, you will be able to continue using the widget while our developers find the reason why this happens.

I will notify our developers of this and they will update you through this thread as soon as the fix is provided.

As a possible substitution could be a plain radio button with the link to your terms of use such as on this jotform: http://form.jotformpro.com/form/43035342285955

You can clone it to your account following these steps: How to Clone an Existing Form from a URL

    Best Regards,
    Ben

    Hello,

Could you let us know if you are still experiencing the issue? This could be an issue with the widget that conflicts with other code on the JotForm. But I believe this issue is fixed by now. Please provide us with the JotForm ID to check and help you with that.

Also, there is an updated message on the thread that you are referring in the second post to update the JotForm with newer version of the widget.

Please get back to us if you have any other questions. We will be happy to help.

    Thank you.

You can stay using the Radio Button/Check Box method to make it sure you have it working. There's always a chance that a bug to a feature will occur, but our developers are working hard to eliminate those and make all features working correctly.

Some other users are using the same widget, but as far as I know, they don't have any problem with it. So let me say that there are few factors to consider why the issue happen. One could be because your mail servers detected the content of the widget as spam. OR the link that was generated by the widget conflicts to the other form function resulting to the problem.

But as Bane mentioned to the other thread, there was a new version of the widget. To make it safe, you can try cloning the same form from your account: http://www.jotform.com/help/27-How-to-clone-an-existing-form-from-your-account, modify/add the widget to the clone form and test it out as if you are the form user.

    Thank you!
