    Hi Team,

Is there any way to make it perform a mass update trough an import function?

Say I want to have register for a sport event, linking my form with google spreadsheet I can update the data with the competitor number and update payed yes/no.

Mass update is easier in Spreadsheet than in JotForm submission edition feature.

These updates would be done massiveley on google spreadhseet then uploaded for update in the original jotfomr.  In an ideal world the dubmissionId which is the last column inthe spread sheet could be used when imported as a primary key meaning update data by replacing existing values with the one coming from the spreadsheet.

    Thanks Georges

    Hi Georges,

You can use our Import Data App: http://apps.jotform.com/app/import_data. It's either you will use a new form to import the updated data or import it to the original form. Please try that and let us know if there are problems. So..

    a. Mass edit submissions in the Google Spreadsheet

    b. Download the spreadsheet in .xls or .csv format

    c. Import it to your form using the import data app.

    Thanks

    Hi Welvin,

    I gave it a try.

Data is loading properly but it is not upodating but adding rows of data. The only way to be able to update would through the use of "submission ID" which is not part of the imports.

    Regards,

    Georges

    Hi Georges,

To clarify, the Import Data have NO edit/update action. What it does is only Add or Append new rows of data.

So, as suggested by Welvin, you should instead edit/update first the data in a spreadshet (or outside the form) before you Import Data to the form submissions.

The imported data will not have Submission ID# because it is an internal numbering system that is dynamically generated with an actual submissions of a form.

If data were only imported without doing any form submissions action, the submission ID# will not be generated.

Unfortunately, it seems there is no mass updating mechanism available for the existing form's susbmissions. If you wanted to Edit submission, you will have to do it manually and individually using the Edit button in submission view

    http://www.jotform.com/help/269-How-to-view-Submissions

Hope this help. Please inform us if you need further assistance.

    Thanks.
