Displaying results on a web page after submission

Asked by Mustafa Ghalib  on December 08, 2014 at 12:33 PM

    Hi

I am creating a social network and I want a form that can allow users to enter information about themselves and upload CV's and once it is submitted the results should DISPLAY on the same web page (the users profile), the CV link should be there also for download.

Is this possible with your product?

I look forward to your reply,

    Regards,

    Mustaga

    Hi Mustafa,

Can you please confirm if I understood you correctly.

I am creating a social network and I want a form that can allow users to enter information about themselves and upload CV's

You would like to have a jotform that would collect some personal details - most likely a name, email and such and the upload CV field. If so you can do that with jotform.

once it is submitted the results should DISPLAY on the same web page (the users profile), the CV link should be there also for download.

I presume that you want to have the information submitted on the jotform, shown on your pages where the jotform is located together with a link to download the uploaded CV file and hide the jotform?

Do let us know if both of my presumptions are correct or not and we would appreciate if you could tell us as much details as you can about what you would like to do and we would be happy to assist you in how to achieve that.

    Best Regards,
    Ben

    Hi Mustafa,

Members would have profiles such on Linkedin, Elance, Facebook etc, and they would be basically filling in their profile information with this form

I do apologize, but I am not sure if I got this right:

    1. User comes to your jotform
    2. Fills in data
    3. Data entered in jotform gets gets submitted to Linkedin, Elance, Facebook, etc profiles?

So to confirm, their information sent to us by email is ok, but primarily we want it to show on their profile page.

I have understood that this would be a profile page on your website, but together with the above, I presume that this is not correct and that it would update their above mentioned profiles?

    Best Regards,
    Ben

    Hi Ben

No I meant on our site they will have their own profile page. I mentioned the other social networks as example for comparison only.

So I want users to fill in their profile on our website using your form.

    Hi Mustafa,

OK, thank you for the details. I do apologize for misunderstanding.

In short: Yes. You can do that. :)

Even if the data is submitted to our servers, you can set the jotform to send a POST request to your pages allowing you to capture and show the required data on your servers.

I would suggest taking a look at next few guides:

Send POST Data From JotForm Using PHP in Custom Thank You Page

How to send Submissions to Your MySQL Database Using PHP

Send Instant Submission Notifications with Webhooks

How to Setup Webhook with JotForm

They should give you an overview of what can be done and even help you finalize it, but if you find yourself with any questions along the way, do let us know and we would be happy to answer them.

    Best Regards,
    Ben
