I want the user to select a selection in a drop down box that is NOT THE DEFAULT.
In the example attached I want to make sure that they can not send the form if the DEFAULT 'Location' option is selected. is this possible?
Thanks
Bevan

Hi Bevan,
You can do that in several ways.
1st - using conditions
You can set the conditions to hide the submit button if the value is not OK - if the 'Location' is selected.
You can see it here: http://form.jotformpro.com/form/43423349955967
*Note: I have left an empty option as it is on the screenshot above so empty option would show submit, but not allow it to proceed and 'location' would hide it.
2nd - utilizing empty option
This second approach is by me, more elegant and more user friendly. What we do is that we basically change the white option in the dropdown to say what we want, in this case "Location".
As we do this, the submit button will recognize it as a field that did not get anything selected and would not allow submission to be made.
This means that we get proper error handling and notification, no conditions and it is easy to set up.
To set it up, just click on the dropdown and select Show Properties and scroll in the new window until you get to Show Empty Option Text section and update its value. In this case to "Location".
You can see it in action here: http://form.jotformpro.com/form/43423305091950
In case you want to clone any of the jotforms to your account you can do that by following these steps: How to Clone an Existing Form from a URL
