Product list: pass on data to product list field on another form

Hello, after a lot of searching through the help forums there does not seem to be a clear answer to this question and I would appreciate some help.

    Goal / Workflow:

The goal of this workflow is to allows a salesperson to use a product list to create a 'quote' using some of the available products. That quote would then be sent to the client where they would approve AND pay the total calculated. This functionality is similar to other services like Hubspot Quotes.

Form 1 (Quote): Salesperson enters customer data (name, address, etc) and selects from the available product list the products that customer wants to buy. This form is submitted and the data is passed to Form 2.

Form 2 (Invoice and Payment): This form displays the customer's information, as well as the quote/invoice information for all the selected products and total from Form 1. Additionally the legal terms for the contract are present on this page. The customer signs the form AND enters payment information (credit card, etc) into the form and submits it.

The completed form 2 is both the contract and the payment for the service.

    Notes on things already attempted:

The 'product list' feature has the ability to generate an invoice email / PDF. This is great, but it has no option to capture payment or to sign the generated invoice.

In the 'approval' workflows it is possible to pass data from one form to another, but I see no option to pass product information or the related charge amount into the second form. Can this be done?

As stated above, the goal of this series of forms is to create a standard quote / approval process similar to Hubspot quotes (link added to documentation).

    Hi Nathan,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. If you are trying to pass on the value from the product list field to a short text field on another form, then it is not possible. You can pass on data between the same field formats. Unfortunately, passing the value between 2 Product List fields via URL parameter value is not yet possible. So you will need to use Single or multiple-choice fields on the forms to show the products. Then use URL parameters to pass on data. We have a guide about How to Automatically Pass Form Data to Another Form that you can check out.

Let us know if you have any other questions

Hi Jude, thanks for your quick response. Unfortunately that is disappointing news. The "products" feature is great but this is a critical issue that breaks the workflow and makes it unusable for us as-is. Please do whatever you can to add this to the feature request queue for this product / workflow.

We will attempt a workaround using multiple-choice fields, but this completely misses the added functionality of 'products'.

    Hi Dnathan,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. We've gone ahead and escalated your request to our developers, but when or if it's developed depends on their workload, how viable it is, and how many other users also request it. If there are any updates, we’ll circle back to this thread and let you know.

Thanks for your patience and understanding, we appreciate it.
