I really wish this feature was more sophisticated. I want to record documents but the quality is really low and blurry, and it is .png format which doesnt open on all devices.
We really need a scanner option so we can take photos in .pdf format

    Hi Peter,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Take Photo widget is mainly aimed  to create low resolution images that have smaller file sizes, take up less space and load quicker. If you want to upload files that are higher in resolution, you can simply use our File Upload field. Let me show you how to set that up:

    • In Form Builder, click on Add Elements+ Button.
    • Under Basic Tab, scroll down to the File Upload and add it to your form.

By adding that field you will be able to add different file extensions. You can directly scan the form with your phone and upload it or take a better photo with your camera app and upload it to this field. You can limit the file types that are allowed to accept only PDF. Let me show you how to set that up:

    • On Upload File field, click on the Gear icon.
    • Choose the Options tab and type in the needed extensions in File Types.

With the shown settings, you should be able to send better quality, higher resolution photos and PDFs to the forms.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.
