How to set up dropdown options to show one text and use another internally

Asked by Aaron  on January 12, 2015 at 05:51 PM

Is it possible or possibly coming soon for drop downs or lists to have a code and a text combo?  This way if someone wants to rename a field the code could be stored but the name could be changed.

Also, is it possible to embed custom values into a form.
If the product was licensed could a user pass in a couple of ids that might associate with a client number and the information would be tied to that individual.

    Hi Aaron,

If I understood you correctly about the text and code combo that you could have for the dropdown field, then you want to have one text displayed and another used internally.

This is possible at this time and you can see how to add this here: How to Assign Calculation Value.

The name of the guide might be a bit misleading, but you can add text and numbers into the value and retrieve either of the two.

Now as we can only provide support for one question per thread I have moved your other questions to their new threads here:

We will be replying back to them shortly.

    Best Regards,
