    Merging Accounts

Asked by LeDonne Morris  on January 13, 2015 at 01:56 PM

Hi, my company has one paid JotForm account and about five or more free accounts. We would like to merge all of these accounts onto the paid account.

We have tried merging accounts manually, but this resulted in the forms breaking. We have read on the site's support section that this can be done by the JotForm team, we would like more insight in how this can be done.

    Thank you for your time,

    Hi LeDonne,

The best way to do it would be to log into each free account and post here from them that you want to transfer all jotforms to the paid account.

We will be able to transfer all jotforms from the accounts that post here to the account that they mention. The transfer would include all of the submissions data as well.

Do let us know if you have any further questions.

    Best Regards,
    Ben

    Hi LeDonne,

I just noticed that the thread was private. I have made it public so that you can post from all accounts on it.

You do not need to mention any emails, just account username where the jotforms should be transferred to (since I presume that all jotforms would be moved).

    Best Regards,
    Ben

Before we start merging accounts I have a couple of questions:

    1. Will the embed codes change? Do I have to re-embed each form once this is done?

    2. Will doing this affect any of the websites we have forms in?

    3. Can I simply list the usernames for each free account rather than logging in & posting to this thread?

    Thank you for your help.

    Hi LeDonne,

    1. Will the embed codes change? Do I have to re-embed each form once this is done?

If you are using direct links, no, they will not as the form IDs will stay the same, they will only change the owner account. If you are embedding some jotforms using the custom URL (where your account username is shown in URL) then you would need to re-embed these jotforms.

    2. Will doing this affect any of the websites we have forms in?

If you are using direct links no one would even notice that anything was changed.

    3. Can I simply list the usernames for each free account rather than logging in & posting to this thread?

It would be possible if all accounts had the same email address under their account. Since each account has different emails then for privacy and security reasons, we can only do the transfer if the account holding the jotforms has requested this.

If you do not want to post from different accounts, then please change all accounts to the same email as this account and that would show us that the same person is in charge of the accounts and allow us to make the transfer.

Do let us know once you do so and we would be happy to assist.

If you have any further questions before we do so, please feel free to ask :)

    Best Regards,
    Ben

    Hi LeDonne,

As stated by my colleague Ben, we are only able to move forms from one account to another, if the request comes from the account that currently host the form.

All of your request are currently coming from the username: infledonne, I have moved all the forms associated with the account: infledonne to the account with the username: infiniteali as requested.

Please post from the another account and we would be happy to transfer those forms as well.

    Thank you.

Sorry to get back to this so late, we wanted to double check the previously merged forms & make sure everything is in working order before moving forward.
