    Google Drive Integration: Enabling "Allow Multiple" in File Upload causes docx file to be compressed in Google Drive

    When document in docx format uploaded via jotapp - Google Drive, it cant be edited online, only downloaded because:

    Type Compressed Archive

    But when i manually uploading same document it has:

    Type Google Docs

    I think its should be fixed. Because one of main feature of Google Drive - its online editing.

    Hi,

    I have tried it out using the Google Drive App. I have created a form and uploaded a docx file but I can open the uploaded docx and edit it on Google Drive.

    Example:

    I can edit the docx file.

    Can you provide us specific steps on how to reproduce the problem? So far during my several tests, I can't reproduce the problem.

    Thank you for the additional information. I'll inform my colleague about the uploaded file you sent. 

    Regarding the problem, could you confirm that you are unable to edit the uploaded "docx" type of the submission? I see in your screenshot that it is a compressed file? A zip or rar maybe? And the document is an xml file? 

    This is how mine shows:

     

     

    Could you try re-integrating and see if the problem still persist. But I'll inform by colleague about the uploaded file you sent and will check what's the status of it.

    i can not edit uploaded docx. In screenshot it not compreseed file, its docx, that are shown like compressed file, and when i upload the same file by hand to google drive - all going good ( i can edit )

    so the promblem is in your method of uploading files

    Hi,

    I checked your account and looked for the form. I see that this is the one that has the file upload field: http://www.jotformpro.com/form/50571642602954. I've cloned it and made sample submissions.

    I was able to reproduce the problem. And I believe the problem shows when you enable the "Allow Multiple" option in the file upload field.

    I need to escalate this to our developers so that they can fix this bug. Apologies for the inconvenience. We'll inform you as soon as the problem has been resolved.

    Hello rewiaca,

    Thanks for reporting this to us. This bug is now fixed.  Your next file docx submissions should reflect the correct mime type for the said file and should be editable in Google Drive.
