How to align form fields?Asked by cmhouston on March 07, 2015 at 08:41 PM
I want to align my form fields into two columns.
I have several different kinds of fileds - text, date, radio button, dropdown etc.
When I shrink them, and try to align them in two columns, they never align. Why are the fields not automatically sized to the width of the column and fit into the column.
For example, the Name field and Date of Birth field (date) never easily fit into one row easily.
What am I missing?
When your fields are shrunk they are not specifically placed in column of a specific size. Which is why the fields may not shrink to a specific size and would need adjustment.
I reviewed your form and I am seeing that your fields are currently in columns.
Can you confirm if this issue has been resolved?
No - not really. I had to spend hours to get them to line up just so.
I will have fields for each participant in the form - eg name and dob etc.
For each participant I want these to be organized the same way. As soon as I add a field, everything moves around and takes a long time to rearrange. Is there a better way to do this?
Why don't the fields resize to the column size - they seem to but they don't. Is there a way to fine tune the field size?
When organizing your form adding new fields would affect the layout. It is best to add all the fields that you would like in your form and then organize them as desired. You can inject Custom CSS Code in your form to help with the alignment.
If you would like to have a list of fields that your users can add another set of these fields, you can consider using our Configurable List Widget.
We would be happy to assist you with the CSS code to have your form organized.
