I have a form collapse in the following form http://form.jotformpro.com/form/50333233740949 and I am sure it removed any items from the total at the bottom and in the preview if the category was deselected at the top of the form. This was set up so that if a user decided to not want the items in a category by deselecting the category but did not deselect the item in that category it would not show in either the total or the preview and notifications.
There was a problem with the totals not showing in an earlier version and that had to be fixed by your development team. see this thread.Calculation fields showing as Zero in Form preview and Notification

Am I missing something or has the fix broken something else.

The problem why the form collapse are not working because you have set them the visibility to "hidden", you actually do not need this because you have set a condition to show these with specific rules, when the rules are not meant they are automatically hidden.
What you would need is just set the visibility to "visible" and everything should work.
Here's the sample cloned form I edited for testing purposes: http://form.jotformpro.com/form/50673839095971
Do let us know if this works.

Thanks for that explanation.
Sorry to say that did not work, and it does not work on the cloned version either.
I hid the Page Collapse field as the description was not that informative. I have changed the first Collapse field to Bags - Section, and that has changed all the fields in the Conditions, that's fine as I was afraid that all the related conditions were going to be wrong so now I can delete the Text field. I was not that keen on having the Closed and Open available to the user, that was the was the reason for hiding it. Can the Open & Closed status be made invisible?

Yes, please feel free to do so.
Now I see that you have referenced this thread: http://www.jotform.com/answers/515951-Calculation-fields-showing-as-Zero-in-Form-preview-and-Notification and that the issue there was that the calculations and Preview before submit had shown 0 instead of the value.
Now I would just like to confirm the issue here:
1. You open your jotform: http://form.jotformpro.com/form/50333233740949
2. Click on Bags (or any other checkbox)
3. This shows you the collapse that is closed at this time (I would suggest setting it up as open and hidden so that it just shows the fields to the visitors, without the need to open them)
4. select something for purchase
5. change your mind and unselect bags
6. total is still shown - you want it set to 0 and gone
Do let us know if any of the steps above is not correct and feel free to add your own as well to it.
Better we can understand the issue better we can assist you with this and help you resolve it.

Thanks for looking at this and your prompt reply (as always).
Yes your understanding is correct. The reason for this setup is that if a user decides to abandon a category but does not remove their selection within that category then it should not calculate the total items and the total values. "Users Law" states that in some cases the user will not go to the item ordered in error and remove it from within the category but will deselect the category.
User selects Bags and then selects BG125 completes the other fields for BG125 and then goes to Shirts and selects H121 and completes the other fields. On seeing the total they then decide that they do not want the BG125 for one reason or another and then instead of going to the category and turning the Quantity to Nil for BG125 they take the short route and deselect the category Bags instead.
With the above in mind can the running total at the bottom, the preview and the email notification reflect that only one item is to be ordered.
I am sure this worked OK in my original form but the totals in the preview and notification were zero. The developers then fixed the Zero problem but it seems that this has upset the function described above.
I hope this further explains the effect that I am trying to achieve.
Look forward to your reply on this.

Thank you for the confirmation Willy.
I took a look at your conditions and I saw that there were many fields that were removed and had been in conditions - which is always easy to cause some issues so it is best to be removed.
Now I do not know if this would need to be redirected to some other field, I had just removed them in my clone of your jotform that you can see here: http://form.jotformpro.com/form/50684055360958
Even after this was done I see that Form Calculation widget does not remove the entries of the hidden fields, but instead sees them as if they were not hidden at all and shows their price.
Because of this I will ask our developers to take a look at why this is happening, but would like to ask you to check if the fields in the conditions (like shown above) might needed to be included.
As you can see I have added one more form calculation to see if it would work, but since it is producing the same results I will raise this to our developers (as mentioned above).
Once they take a look and see what is going on they will update you about this through this thread. In the mean time I apologize for the inconvenience caused by this Willy

Thanks for your help and suggestion that I'll remove the deleted fields in the conditions later today. I did notice this and removed one or more, I suppose I should have completed the task Oops.
I will await the developers update.
Although I was not concerned earlier about the time that it would take to solve this in earlier communications but I am now running out of time. I was hoping to make this live mid march. Can you see what you can do to have it looked at as soon as poss.

I can confirm this thread has been already assigned to a developer and was marked with an Important priority.
Unfortunately, we cannot provide an ETA for a fix release but you'll be notified here as soon as an update regarding this matter shows up.

Could you give the developers a nudge on this and see if they could attend to it as soon as possible please.
- BenAnswered on March 21, 2015 at 03:22 AM
Hi Willy have just send an inquiry about this to our developers. As soon as we get any info we will update you here.
Thank you and I apologize for waiting.
- mgcaledonian13Answered on March 21, 2015 at 01:25 PM
I hope they can deal with it soon as it has been three weeks since this was raised, not the usual service.
Our season starts on the 22nd March (tomorrow) and I was hoping to announce it at the first gathering, pity about that.

Thanks for the good news.
I am grateful for the fix.
It all seems to work just fine now.
