Data WarehousingAsked by Brendon Irwin on March 11, 2015 at 11:35 AM
I'm emailing on behalf of Wilfrid Laurier University. We're currently investigating a form building tool and I came across yours. Given our data housing policy at the university, I was hoping you could answer a few questions.
Where is the data warehoused - US or Canada? If the data is stored in the US is there an option to have an "in-house" copy of Jot Form.
With regards to the data - is the data encrypted? (In database) or only encrypted via SSL during transmission.
I found the "as-is" version for sale on the site. Sorry about that - but does the "As-is" version support encrypting data in the database?
JotForm data centers are located in the US and Germany. We have 2 data centers in the US (Texas and Virginia) and 1 data center in Germany. All data is replicated across all 3 locations for backup purposes. Data can be transmitted via SSL:
However the data is stored unencrypted in plain text. Here is a bit more information about collecting sensitive data with your forms:
Neither version of JotForm supports encryption of the stored data. Though the application version can be customized to do so, it would be up to you to implement it.
