    Data Update to Google Spreadsheet Suddenly broke

    Hello,

     

    We have a pre-existing Google Sheet that Jotform updates by appending new form enquirers to.

     

    We have our own additional data against each set of form data you append (to manage our workflows of responding).

     

    This has worked well up until 1 hour ago.

     

    Now every time Jotform goes to append a new single enquirer - the entire Google Spreadsheet is being overwritten by ALL HISTORIC enquirers - and not just appending the new additional enquirer.

     

    This causes all of our additional data to be lost.

     

    This is TOP URGENT and very important.

     

    Please respond immediately.

    We have a problem again with data not coming into the Google Sheet.

    This happened over the last few hours.

    It initially overwrote all data in the Google Sheet with all submissions.  We have removed the Google Sheets integration and re-integrated 2 times and new submission data is not inserting into the new linked Google Sheet.

    Hello,

    Your spreadsheet seems to be full, as bounded to 400,000 cells by Google's permissions. Do you think it may be the case?

    If so, I can recommend you to switch to "new spreadsheets" as described here:

    I have just asked for permissions to access.

    Hello Nathan,

    As you have probably realized, rebuilding headers becomes a bit difficult in this case. I will be looking for solutions, however, we have switched to a more dynamic sheet and you may like to re-integrate, while holding your data in the same sheet elsewhere or, in other worksheets in the same Spreadsheet so that data columns stay tidy and sync all the time.

    I will be at your service until we get there.

    Thanks for the update.  So what you mean is that you no longer insert the data into Google Sheets based on the column heading text, it now just goes into the left hand most columns?

    I have re-integrated Google Sheets and the data doesn't go into the columns that it used to.  It just inserts in the left hand most columns.

    Could you take a look Nathan if the same issue is still present for you?

    I would like to ask you to follow the next steps to check this:

    1. remove the current integration
    2. recreate the spreadsheet integration

    I apologize for this problem as it took so long already. Your form seems to be de-integrated by one of my previous mistakes while fixing other issues related to integrations. You may now re-integrate and start to receive submissions.

    Hello

    The integration to Google Sheets has disconnected its self (again).  I have tried to re-integrate and it keeps failing.

    Over the last week the integration to Google Sheets has disconnected a further 2 times.  Each time it means we have to re-organise the sheet, sharing, workflows etc - which costs us about an hour or more each time.  SO its getting quite frustrating.

    Our most sincerest apologies for the inconveniences caused. We can relate to your frustration right now. 

    I have tested this with one of my form and the Google Spreadsheet seems working just fine. 

    The problem might be form specific. While I have no clue as to why this suddenly stops in your form, I have re-informed our developers about this so they can further investigate.

    Hello Nathan,

    I have removed integration removal when the document is deleted and authorization is denied, additionally fixed few issues by following logical relationships of the issue as I cannot reproduce it, so the problem may be fixed now. I am checking it again, using the clone of your form in question. 

    Please let me know if you realize any clues.

    Hello Alp,

    The new enquiries are still not inserting into Google Docs.

    We have tried re-integrating to Google Drive and that has made no difference.

    We are still able to create a new Google Spreadsheet as part of the integration, but it still seems to fail to complete the integration as the new inquiries fail to automatically insert into the Google Sheet.

    Do you have any further progress?

    I'm sorry for the trouble caused to you.

    I did check you form and it seems there is some problem with the integration or the integration was not successful. The integrated google spreadsheet URL does not seems to be correct. Please check the screenshot below:

     

    I would suggest you to re-integrate your form with google spreadsheet and see if that solves your problem.

    Do get back to us if the issue persists and we will update our colleague @alp_deniz about this issue.

    Good news!

    All should be working as expected, I have tested both integration and update successfully, uploading last ~ 17,000 submissions at once; integrating all 25,000 submissions currently take more time than available, however it is to be possible soon.

    Thank you.

    I just tried to integrate a new Google Sheet - the integration didn't complete.  But a Sheet was generated that seemed to have the most recent submissions in from today, and 16558 previous submissions.

    I assume as is not shown as integrated, the new submissions won't be being inserted?

    Hello,

    Sincere apologies. Yes, it seems to fail initializing the integration.

    I was able to integrate and submit successfully again, however, it tries to push number of submissions per integration to its limit and it seems to fail in random occasions. So I have just loosened it and it should be able to integrate successfully every time, unfortunately with less submissions.

    Thanks for your continued work on this issue.

    The integration still fails for me and then of course new submissions are not automatically inserted.

    We would be happy if dramatically less submissions are inserted at the time of integration (eg last 1,000 only) but we need for the new submissions to automatically insert into the sheet (after integration).

    We apologize for the delayed updates.

    But to let you know, the issue with our Jotform integration to google spreadsheet had been fixed already. As far as I know, no other user/s had been reporting persistent issue about the integration up to this time.

    To check more into the problem, may I request additional details from you.

    #1 Please share to us the URL of the integrated spreadsheet. You can use the view only option when sharing so that the data will not be overwritten.

    #2 Let us know which of your form is having the issue.

    I will try to make a test submission on the form, and check how it will behave on the integrated spreadsheet. 

    By doing this process, we will be able to find more details about the problem.

    When I couldn't replicate the issue at the time I had to work out some other issues and requests that were urgent. It got a little busy lately, my sincere apologies.

    I have just eased initial integration spreadsheet limits even though it worked on my test. I will be studying it deeper if this decrease is not successful on your side.
