File Upload Field: Each submissions are only fetching a maximum of 25 uploaded filesAsked by realwedseditorial on April 01, 2015 at 07:06 PM
Up until recently our photo upload form was functioning without issue. This past week it's started capping the photo uploads at 25 files, where before it was unlimited. It will say all the files are uploaded, and the form submits, but then in JotForm there are only 25 files attached to the submission no matter how many were uploaded. I checked and we're well within our space limit in the JotForm account.
Any insight into what might be happening?
Yes, our system is configured to upload up to 25 files and up to 1GB per submission as you can see here: http://www.jotform.com/help/33-Changing-the-Upload-Size-Limit
This is why you cannot receive more that 25 files per submission in your form.
If you have further questions, please let us know.
Okay, that makes sense. I'm just confused as to why it was working before - we've gotten hundreds of submissions with > 25 files, and it's only recently stopped working. Is this a recent configuration change?
Also, is there any way we could increase that file limit?
As per the document mentioned, it says "recommended" so it should still allow more than 25 items to be uploaded as long as it does not exceed 1GB of the total submission, are your photos or images has a total of more than 1 GB on each submission? If this is the case that could be the reason.
I tested a simple form in my end with the file upload field.
I can upload .pdf files more than 25 items on one submission.
I can upload .png files more than 25 items on one submission.
All files are less than 1 MB in my end. I then cloned your form titled "RealWeds Submission Form - Vendor (Original)" but I'm unable to get a capped on the number of items.
I'll escalate this to our back end team so that they can check it on their end. We'll update you when we hear any news.
Thanks for all your help so far. Have you heard anything from your back-end team? I just tested it on the JotForm-hosted URL (http://form.jotform.us/form/40715058921150) as opposed to the live form, which is embedded into a landing page on our server. It seems that if I submit through the JotForm-hosted one, there isn't an issue - but through the live form, I'm still only able to get 25 files per submission into JotForm (the files were less than 15MB in total). Do you know if there are any restrictions on submissions coming from an HTML embed vs. a JotForm-hosted URL? It could also be some weirdness in the way we've implemented it on the page (we have a bit of a unique implementation), but wanted to see if that might be affecting things in the back-end.
Unfortunately, there is still no updates about this from the higher team.
Since you mentioned that is working on the stand alone form just like what my colleagues had performed and was successful of uploading more than 25 files, I would suggest to re-embed your form using iframe embed code thus if possible. http://www.jotform.com/help/148-Getting-the-Form-iFrame-Code. This works similarly on the stand alone version since the form loads in an inline frame container and this might resolve the problem you have on hand.
If you are also using the form source code, I would suggest to retake the source code of your form again in the form builder and re-embed it on your page. See if this makes any difference.
Also, can you share us the link to your live form so we can check?
Thanks everyone for all your help with this!
Great. Thank you for letting us know that you were able to resolve the issue and what was its cause.
We have just updated JotForm and it now can handle up to 250 file upload field requests per submission.
