    Add validation feedback at the bottom of a long form

    Asked by gkeune on November 11, 2011 at 10:05 AM

    Is there any way to either add a message at the bottom of a form, or have an alert appear when validation fails? I have several long forms, and if there's a validation error upon submit, the user often does not know why their form is not being processed.

    OK, answering my own question. It's not exactly what I'm looking for, but it'll work.

    In the jotform.js file, around line 2394 (in the validateAll section) I added this:

        if(ret == false) {
            alert("One or more fields are missing their required data.");

    Just above return ret;

    Hope it helps.

    Clever fix, thanks for sharing it.

    I believe the developers are looking at a few of these types of issues with longer forms, so hopefully we will see a more straightforward way of presenting your user with clearer feedback to users of longer forms.
