My other question is this: I'll be placing drop-down fields on the form in each square of the grid pattern in this background image. I'm trying to get the look and feel of a calendar with drop-downs for each day. Do you think this will work or should I go another route to accomplish my goal?

I believe that a similar result might be achievable by using the matrix field and then editing the source code, but this can involve a lot of work:
You can test and clone the demo form:

Instead please let us know more details on what you need to accomplish and we may try to find a simpler solution.
Thank you

Yayyyyy!!! It's Carina!!! How's my favorite JotForm support person? :-)
Well, too be more specific: When I was using Adobe, I created a calendar template much like the one in this form's background. I would modify it according to the particular dates in a given month. Once that was done, I put drop-down fields in the square of each day of the month. The fields had times in them (e.g. 6 AM - 8 AM, 10 AM - 12 PM, etc.) so essentially the person was selecting a day and time to report for an assignment. I figured the easiest way to replicate this in JotForm was to make the background into a calendar and position the drop-down fields over the squares for each date.
I know I would have to change the image every month, but with a template that won't be much of a problem. And with a field in each square, all I would need to do is eliminate drop-down fields that don't correspond with a date. The real pain would be a naming scheme for the fields so my reports make sense.
Well that's my idea...do you think it will work?? I didn't use a matrix b/c of the graphics INSIDE the calendar. I'd like to keep those, but I don't think I'd get them into a matrix? Also there is the problem that the times are different on certain days of the week.
Thanks, Carina!!

As I see your requirement, it seems that there is a need custom programming with the source code of the JotForm. Please allow me some time to check if we can achieve with in-built features of JotForm. However, please be noted that there may be limitations. Let me get back to you with relevant information on this requirement as soon as I find something helpful to you.
Thank you!!
