    Drop Down options (items) are being trimmed after some limit

    Can you guys from Jotform increase the number of options of a dropdown list? I have a dropdown box that has almost 5 thousand options and it wouldn´t be appealing in terms of design if I create multiple dropdown boxes.

    I was able to reproduce the issue you are referring to. It appears that we do not currently support fields with a huge amount of data (e.g. more than 60,000 characters per field). Although, it might be not easy to fix, there is a chance that this is related to some technical/physical limit in our system.

    We have attached a ticket to this thread and escalated to our Development Team for consideration.

    There is no ETA for when it will be fixed, but we will let you know if we have any updates.

    As Mike above stated, a thicket is attached to this thread, and it is already assignt to one of our developers, however, as Mike also stated, there is not an estimated window time as of when this will be fixed.

    Although I have been waiting for any position of Jot Form, I must declare that my operations of renewal and new insurance for cars are wainting for Jot Form developement team to kindly try to solve this limitation.

    Hello Aury,

     

    I URGENTLY need to be informed if it is possible to fix this bug. My monthly subscription was renewal today but I wasn't certain if I wanted that because I need the dropdown menu to have more than 6.000 characters.

    I definitely understand how urgent the fixing of this feature means to you, and that may determine your decision of renewing your current subscription with JotForm.

    However, up to today there is not any update on the ticket opened back on May 7th.

    Eventually, we shall put in contact with you through this thread, as soon as this bug is fixed.

    18 days have passed since I opened a request to solve my problem, which I consider nothing complex and until today I haven't got any answer.

    I understand it's been many days now, but our Development department gets lots of request each day, that is why there is no estimated time-frame for it's implementation, you will be contacted when this happens.

    We do not have any updates at this time.  Though a developer has been assigned to this, not all requests can be met.  Since this has not been given a very high priority, it may be quite some time before the developer is able to address this.  We will update this thread as soon as we have any further information.

    Since this is a limitation on addressable memory, it is not likely to be updated any time soon.  If you need more than 1,000 options, I would recommend breaking the field up into smaller fields for the time being.
