Searchable business directory service with JotForm

Asked by JC Rodriguez   on May 15, 2015 at 10:49 AM

As posted before I'm doing like a business directory that once a form is submitted I need that form to be searchable, by filter but I can't see that option.

Also what does subuser mean does that mean in my case only 10 members could post and search the form system?

I'm sorry for all the questions.

    Thank you

I would like to apologize for any inconvenience, but I don't think I'm getting what you're trying to accomplish here. Kindly confirm, because to my understanding, you would like to create a Business Directory form and once it is submitted by someone, the information or details on the submissions are opened to be searchable in search engines? is that correct? So, for example, if someone searches for a specific Business Name or Company name, the form you created that that company filled up and submitted will be searched? I'm sorry if we need further clarification with your concern as we would just like to help. Kindly give us more details of your request so we may further assist you. Thank you.

Sub-users is just like a regular account that is owned by another JotForm user. the difference is that sub-users are under somebody else's main account. We can share forms in JotForm in many different ways, but what if you still want to have control over the forms you have shared with? This is when Sub-users account are most important, you can share forms with your Sub-user and can still have control over the forms shared in this manner. While it might be possible to create some kind of business directory with JotForm and custom programming, we do not provide membership features with our forms. It means, that we do not have any built-in options to provide your users with login/logout and other functionality that might be important for business directory service.

It might be a better idea to use some specialized business directory software. There are many options on Google - business directory software.

Please let us know if you need any further assistance.

How would it be possible for me to display the business directory once the forms are submitted?

The submission data can be displayed in a custom format with a 'Submission View' application. However, that application is relatively limited and require coding knowledge.

The form submission data can also be forwarded to your custom script for processing. We have two options here:

    1) Post data with a webhook.

    2) Post data with a redirect to the thank you page.

In both cases you will need a custom script/system to process the data, store and display it on your website.
