    Zoho Integration with numeric fields

Asked by Ron  on June 04, 2015 at 11:29 AM

I am using the Zoho integration with Jotform. It is working fine with text and dropdown fields, but numeric fields and date fields in Zoho are not appearing as fields in the Zoho interface.

Based on other documentation, it appears that the Zoho interface only works on text-based fields?

If so, how does one handle fields that need to be defined as numeric in Zoho, because they need to be tallied, summed, etc. in Zoho. Is there no way of getting a number from Jotform into Zoho?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

Can you please share us the Form URL that you are working on? That would allow us to better check the problem.

If you would like to pass a number to Zoho, have you tried using a text box field in JotForm then change the validation to "numeric".

You can then pass that text box (with a numeric value on it) directly to Zoho.

Do let us know if that works.

    Thank you.

    Hi Charlie,

The form, although it is just started, is http://www.jotform.us/form/51538157194157.

The problem is, the Zoho fields that are defined as numerics don't even appear in the list of fields in the Zoho App. So although I could validate the text box as numeric, there is no way of mapping it to the Zoho field.

Zoho doesn't have the capability of validating a text field for numeric, plus I need the fields in Zoho to be actual numerics in order to tally them for reporting purposes. So I can't simply change the fields in Zoho from numeric to text.

So surely there has to be a way of getting a number from Jotform to Zoho?

    Thanks!

    Hi Ron,

Based on other documentation, it appears that the Zoho interface only works on text-based fields?

You may want to try first to redo the integration. In your Zoho app field mapping option, there is an option to set a field as custom field. Try setting the field to custom.

A similar discussion thread here indicates that there is numeric data type in Zoho.

This means that a numeric field mapping should work just fine.

Please let us know if it works after redoing the integration.. or not.

    Thanks.

    Hi Jonathan,

OK, interesting. From that example it would appear that they are working with numeric fields.

So I will try your suggestions and redo the integration, and look into Custom fields.

    Thanks!
