Is there a field that I can use to accept only currency entries?

I am creating a grant application.  Applicants need to indicate the dollar amount they are requesting.  I want their response to use appropriate commas and a decimal point so that when I download them into Excel, I can total the column that includes the amounts requested.  The option for Number does not seem to be able to be configured for currency.  Other options related to PayPal are not what I need.
