does wish box require iPhone users to pan side to side to view the page like this blog does? not sure why I can't pinch it smaller nor can I tap to zoom

No, you can use Wishbox on iPhone normally just like how you would open any website through iPhone. You should also not have difficulties zooming the browser in or out. Can you give us the URL with WishBox that you're having difficulties on iPhone?
