    How to change data after it's been submitted in order to update status?

    Asked by hsheahan on June 25, 2015 at 03:53 PM

    How do you change the selected data in a field after it's already been submitted? I need to do this in order to update the status of the submission, which is one field in the record.

    ID: #input_15
    Name: {status}

    This ID: #input-15 has 6 six different choices to select. I want to be able to go somewhere to edit this one detail and resubmit, then the report will be updated with the new status showing. How best to do this?

    Here's my report https://www.jotform.com/grid/51745865599071 that gets updated from the form. The field to focus on is Status.

    Note that new records will constantly be forming, but that I also want to be able to modify a record's status after the record is submitted. Each record will go through about 6 changes in its lifetime - the workflow of the status.

    Hi,

    I was the one helping you with your other thread:

    http://www.jotform.com/answers/596794-How-can-users-update-a-web-view-report-with-a-new-piece-of-data-

    Updating your submissions through the submission view is probably your best bet.  Adding in a checkbox for to be checked for each step in the workflow process may also help to help track of what has been updated.  This could be included in the suggested admin section from the previous thread.

    Since much of this functionality is not built in, unfortunately workarounds such as these are necessary.

    If you have any further questions or need any help getting things set up, let us know and we will be happy to see what we can do.
