I am wondering if there is a way to track form from keyword to submission. For example if john smith fills out my form I want to know what keyword john used in google that brought him to my website where he eventually filled out my form.

You can add the Google Analytics Widget on your form for this purpose

You need to log in to your Google Account and navigate to Google Analytics. From there, you can get your Google Analytics Universal Tracking ID, you can analyze your visitors behavior and activities on your form.

You can also check other widgets regarding analytics here: http://widgets.jotform.com/category/analytics. If you wish to know where did your user came from before they landed to your form's URL, then I believe this widget should help: http://widgets.jotform.com/widget/get_referrer.

Do let us know if that works.

    Hi,

If you check the screenshots in the widget page here, you can see from the dashboard of your Google Analytics account that you can see the activities and behavior in your form, the number of clicks, browser that was used and other relevant information. Information will show if the form is visited.

To learn more about how to setup Google Analytics, you can check their guide here: http://www.google.com/analytics/learn/setupchecklist.html.

    For your question:

For example if john smith fills out my form I want to know what keyword john used in google that brought him to my website where he eventually filled out my form.

You can track your users from where they came from before they landed to your form URL/page, you can use this widget for that: http://widgets.jotform.com/widget/get_referrer. Specific term hat they used might be on the referrer URL where they came from. I'm not sure though if Google Analytics also shows that information, but I believe they do have an option or settings for it.

Looking at the screenshots in the widget it seems that the way it was set up in the example is that you need to create a anayltics account just for your jotform . SO for example, if I have anaytlics for the website ben.com where my form is located can I use ben.com's analytics ID number or do I need to create a new analytics account

-ya, I can use UTM parameters for this , it will just be very tedious

Please check Google Analytics page, I believe you can have around 100 Google Analytics account using one Google account. Based from this web page link: https://www.google.com/analytics/web/provision?et=&authuser=0#provision/SignUp/, you need to setup one analytics per website/mobile/link.

I believe it would be better to have a separate analytics account for the form itself. But, if the analytics for ben.com is already giving you the necessary and vital information on the form itself, that should already work.

We also have a new feature called Form Analytics, this is JotForm's own analytics, you can check it out there: http://www.jotform.com/blog/158-Realizing-the-Power-of-Form-Analytics.

    Thanks.
