Form is messed up with exported to PDF

Asked by sfmamarkets on July 01, 2015 at 06:42 PM

I click the create pdf link on the menu but my forms keep coming out all messed up as PDF's.  Either they are all stretched out like crazy or the submit button is just cutting them off in mid text and they have big lines on the sides?

    Please Help?

Below is the attachment with a stretched out image of flags- this is supposed to be the cover image and it is stretched out for pages-

Also how do I find my questions a day later?

    Hi,

Thank you for reporting this to us. I have raised this to our developers for further investigation. I could not reproduce this problem on normal forms with form fields. I believe this is form specific, I think this is related to the length of the text on your form. We'll let you know once this is fixed.

This is how your form looks here:

By the way, I have come up with an alternative way of exporting your form into PDF using Chrome Browser. You can download your PDF here if you want https://shots.jotform.com/elton/SFMA%202015.pdf.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

Sorry for the late response, we could finally fix the issue.

Please recreate your PDF form, it should look much better now.

    Regards.

    Hello everyone,

The form is having the same issues when it is recreated into a PDF.  Please tell me what my next steps are?

    Thank you for your effort-

We will try to look into.

Since there are no inputs on your form, the fillable PDF is not required and you may consider printing the form into a PDF file. This is possible with a Google Chrome browser:

    - Print the page (Ctrl + P).
    - Destination: Save as PDF.
    - Save.

    Thank you.

Thank you that will help me out for now.

Should I recreate the form, would that help?  This form is the one I brought over from Adobe Forms, I tried duplicating it and same issue.

    Thoughts on recreating?

You have mentioned that you are still having the same issue when you try to recreate your form into a Fillable PDF copy, is that still correct? If so, you can just follow the workaround provided by my colleague, Mike. As what he have mentioned, your form doesn't need inputs and so, Fillable PDFs is not really an option for you this time. May I suggest you consider creating a Plain PDF copy of your form instead as shown on Mike's reply?

Thank you both for all the support on this.  I am able to export a PDF via the channels recommended above but it does not pick up on my page breaks.  I tried again after some reformatting to create a PDF via the menu on JotForm.  It opened a new tab with this code in it. I am wandering if I need need to step up to a paid account to have access?

The free and paid account have the same privileges Oleana, so even if you upgrade, the feature will work the same for you regardless of your plan.

Now in regards to the suggestion given by my colleague Mike, that is the only option for now, but it will not split the pages for you on the page breaks, instead it will create the pages where it finds it best based on the size of form, paper page sizes, etc.

Now, having that said, I would like to suggest to try using the Form Separator widget to create additional space on your form in place where the form breaks are found, allowing you to easily adjust the white space - moving the rest of the form fields down before printing.

I see that our developer was already notified of this, so as soon as there are any new updates, we will let you know about it through this thread.
