    Upload File: Encountering Error "UPLOAD ERROR - File could not be uploaded for some reason" when form is submitted

    Hello,

    We have three forms for one client and all three come up with the same error: UPLOAD ERROR - File could not be uploaded for some reason

    These forms had not been used for about a year and they went bad on their own...

    One of them we had to delete and recreate because we needed to use it right away. The other two need to be used next week but before we delete them and recreate them I though I will ask you first.

    The two remaining bad ones are:

    and

    I have tested your forms. Is this the error message that you are getting? 

    I have inspected your forms and you have set Upload file field to accept only pdf, ppt, pptx, jpg file extensions.

    I have got this error message when I tried to upload file with different extension. However when I upload file with correct extension I did not get error message. 

    Inside of this article you can find out which are Upload Field Allowed File Types (extensions) and how to change them.:

    Seems the form got corrupted some how, I wan't able to submit the uploaded file:

    Thank you but the cloning does not work either... I already tried. How can three forms, all belonging to the same client corrupt at the same time?

    I think it might have to do with the form's cache, can you please clear it? http://www.jotform.com/help/229-How-to-Clear-your-Form-Cache

    Also, simply try adding a new upload field.

    I cloned the form again and still nothing. If the cloning worked for you, in theory, it should have worked for me but it doesn't here is the cloned form:

    I test your form http://www.jotformpro.com/form/52007340946956 and I was able to reproduced the problem as well.

     

    it has redirection error.

     

    It has to do with your conditional statement that redirects the submissions.

     

    the redirection URL is invalid since the submission needs to finalize the uploading of file before it can redirect.

    I suggest you remove this condition and just use the default Custom URL Thank You Redirect instead.

     

     

    This should resolve the issue. Please let us know if it did not.

    It made perfect sense and I did it. I also cleared the cache just in case. I was going to bet money that it was going to work but it did not. 
    But here is what i discovered. I made the file transfer button NOT required and without uploading a file it worked. So there is something with the upload button. We often get complaints on other forms that people are getting errors but it's hard to get information from them. Can you please have a look again and see if you can figure out something? 
    BTW, I tried it on MAC Safari and Chrome, and WIN 7 Chrome with the same results.

    I tested your form and I was able to replicate the issue. See screenshot below.

     

    I cloned your form and tested it again and I was not able to replicate the issue. Can you try cloning your form again and see if it works to the cloned form?

    I does not work. As I mentioned above it only works if I disable the File Upload button. I think it is something with the upload function.

    It IS the upload button. When I remove it the form works fine. If I delete the button and add another one it still does not work. So the upload button is creating an error on this form. Please confirm.

    I was have tested your form and I was able to reproduce mentioned problem. 

    However my cloned form is working fine. 

    Can you try to turn off Allow Multiple option and see if than you will be able to submit your form.

    I have already don that as well. No difference. Is it possible that the problem is specific to my account only? Too many forms... too many uploads, too much disk space used, etc?
