Here's what I'd like to be able to do:
I am in the IT business and offer virtual server hosting services.
I would like for a prospective customer to be able to indicate what services they are looking for. Examples would be
# of CPU
Disk storage in GB
Operating System Required (Windows of Linux)
I do not want to provide pricing direct on my website but I would like my prospects to be able to complete the above information including their email address, and once they submit the info they will automatically receive a quote via email. All of the logic and price lists will be stored in some "backend" spreadsheet and will be calculated upon submission by the user.
I do not want to calculate pricing as the user is entering the data, nor do I want to collect payment during this process.
Is jotform able to perform this function?

Unfortunately, there's no back end spreadsheet that you can use as a reference that will communicate directly to the submission. However, this is still possible, here's how I will design it in my end.
1. First, create a form.
3. Now, you mentioned you don't want your users to see it, you can easily set the calculated fields "hidden".
I would advise you signing up an account to us to better use our features. You can also check our Support pages to learn more about our products. Here are some helpful links:
I hope that helps.
