    Hi

I have a form that has a client part and a office part. When the client fills out the form online a email with the admin edit link goes to a ipad and the admin clicks on the link and the iPad attempts to open the form it gets to the basic outline and then the program (i'm assuming JotForm for ipad) crashes back to the desktop.

If I copy and paste the link in a browser on the ipad it loads with the clients correct data. I want to get rid of the problem so my admin staff can just click on the link.

    cheers

    Hi,

I presume you are referring to the iOS app here: https://www.jotform.com/products/mobile-forms/.

Unfortunately, I believe you cannot open the edit link on the JotForm iOS app. The app was built for viewing the submissions, notifications and as a way of monitoring the form.

Please use a web browsers to properly use the edit link, you can instruct the users to open the link on their default web browser.

    I hope that helps

I'm not sure that is the issue. I get an email on the ipad with the live editing link. When you tap on the link to open the form to finish editing the office part of the form it opens the link in a browser and crashes immediately it tries to recover the live form, I presumed it was opening jotform but it maybe opening safari. If you copy and paste the link in a browser there is no problem.

I want staff to be able to just tap on the link and get it to open for editing, which it doesn't which to me means a functional problem to be resolved.

    cheers

Thank you for additional details Peter. You are correct, it should be that the Safari / default browser is being opened to edit the link and, based on your posts, it immediately crashes.

Now I do believe that this might be related to some resources on your iPad which cause this - basically that using the link causes it to not load properly before it tries to load the form.

However we have a team of people working with all things iOS so I do believe that they will be interested to check this out for you and see if there is anything that can be done to resolve this.

I will update them about this thread right after posting this, but please do let us know the specifics of your iPad to see if they can match it and recreate the issue.

For example: iOS version, Safari version and if the Safari is already loaded while looking at the emails, or is it closed - anything else that you think that might be relevant, feel free to mention.

Hi ipad2 running 8.4.1 ios and email using gmail app. Only one app at a time open as no multi tasking on ipad. So email comes in on gmail app, notification, open gmail app read form autoresponder and then click on edit link, you see it try to switch apps and start to open the form. At the point it displays the fields empty it crashes.

    cheers

    Hi Peter,

Thanks for the information. If using different browser an option, have you tried checking by loading the edit URL on different browser like Chrome or Firefox? I think these can be installed on iPad too. See if the form loads fine here. Thanks!
