PayPal payments without a paypal accountAsked by kelsey on October 08, 2015 at 02:23 AM
Quick question. I don't want to have my customers have to sign up for PayPal to use credit/debit cards during checkout. I read something that said PayPal Standard allowed them to checkout using debit and credit cards without a PayPal account, but when I was testing it out on my website it appeared to make me sign up for PP in order to checkout.
Do you know for sure if people can checkout with a debit/credit card without having a PP account for PP Standard?
This is a re-post of a comment on Difference Between PayPal & PayPal Pro
When paypal knows that you have a paypal account (using a cookie that is still kept even if you log out) they will show you the only paypal option. That's not the case if you have never logged into PayPal on a browser. They want people to use their paypal accounts as much as possible.
cookie is less of a problem. If credit card is associated with paypal account you cannot use it without logging in. This is big problem when secretary is asked to make purchase with such card. She does not have access to bosses paypal account and forget it no sale. I had this problem several times before and stopped using paypal.
