Feedback Button form is not responsive

Asked by Mike on October 15, 2015 at 03:27 PM

I see that the issue is related to the jotform plugin. I have a direct link on the home page, which went to a page with the form embedded and wasn't responsive. I've replaced that with a direct link to jotform.com/xxxxx which is mobile responsive.

But clicking the jotform button gives me this error, on Chrome as well as the Safari on my iPhone. Direct link looks fine as you show above.

    Check out the website here

    Thanks

We do not recommend using the Feedback embedding method for mobile viewing purposes, since it's not set to be mobile responsive. This is because a fixed width and height is declared in the Feedback embed code.

If you have another question, please open a new thread, we will be glad to assist you.

Are you talking about the WP plugin you all provide? I understand the page embedding, but why does your WP plugin prevent it from being mobile responsive?

If you are referring to the Feedback button that is displayed on the right-bottom corner on your webpage, it cannot be a responsive form as explained by our colleague in the previous post. Could you let us know the plugin that you have used to embed the form on your website and the link URL of the webpage where the form is embedded? This would help us in investigating the issue further.

We will wait for your response. Thanks!

Could you share the direct URL of the webpage where you have embedded one of your jotforms using the WordPress plugin

I would suggest trying the iFrame embedded method instead: http://www.jotform.com/help/148-Getting-the-Form-iFrame-Code

It is the same website I linked at the initial post in this thread. Not sure what the misunderstanding is, but I am using the Jotform wordpress plugin that I assume is made by Jotform. It directly pulls in the jotform URL so I can't iframe it in there.

The website is http://AlliedCrawlSpace.com as I linked at the beginning of this thread. It's also shown in the image above. You will see the orange button at the bottom of the screen, again, which is derived from your word press plugin.

    Thanks

I see the problem on your site. I have assigned this to one of our developers. Thanks for your patience.

If at all possible, you need to find a way to do one of 2 things:

    1) Either make the Feedback Form Responsive as there is a growing number of mobile users and we can't put the form on the website if it doesn't work on a smartphone

    2) Set it up so you can have it NOT appear if the the screen size is smaller than 500px or 600px.

This is the type of popup I needed but not being able to adjust for mobile is a huge problem in really using it.

    Thanks,

    Chris

    Hi Chris,

As I understood, there's a workaround by inserting a custom script on the feedback embed code. You have switched to a direct link of your form not a feedback form so I could not test on your site. Anyway, I have made a test on my side.

Basically, I have added some script on the feedback embed code so its width changes when viewed on mobile. Here are the changes I've made on script :

    <script src="https://form.jotform.com/static/feedback2.js?3.3.REV" type="text/javascript">var parentWidth = window.innerWidth;if(window.innerWidth <= 499) {parentWidth = window.innerWidth-100;} else {parentWidth =  500;}console.log(parentWidth); new JotformFeedback({ formId: "63160537004951",buttonText: "Message Contact Form",base: "https://form.jotform.com/",background: "#F59202",fontColor: "#FFFFFF",buttonSide: "left",buttonAlign: "center",type: false,width: parentWidth,height: 500 });</script>

Finally, everything is works properly, as you can see.

If you have any question or issue, feel free contact us.
