Message Stating That Link Can't Be Found Appears When Link to Uploaded Word Document Is Clicked in Notification

I am setting up my first form.  I did some tests on attaching a word doc and a PNG file.  When I emailed it and clicked on the links, the .doc wouldn't download (said can't find link).  The .png was okay.  For this need I need to be able to get .doc, .xls, and .pdf files when the company makes requests.

Does the same thing happen when the document's link is clicked in the form's submission records? When I used that method the ID Introduction ... document downloaded okay.
