permissions_booksAsked on November 11, 2015 at 5:29 PM
Hello! How do I have pre-filled data which will remain constant for each request UNLESS the requestor wishes to change something, for example -
NAME
ADDRESS
PHONE
EMAIL
[click to edit]This will allow our customer for one less step to fill in the same address details each time. I currently used the TEXT option however we are not able to see this when the form has been submitted to us.
Please advise.

Hi,
If you are trying to pre-fill some of the fields in your form, here is our guide on how to do so:
http://www.jotform.com/help/71-Prepopulating-fields-to-your-JotForm-via-URL-parameters
This application will create the URL for you if you would like:

So I used the application to create the URL for me.
http://form.jotformpro.com/form/53135908199969?format62=Print and Electronic&address[addr_line1]=366%20W.%20Circle%20Drive&address[addr_line2]=Room%20W224A&address[city]=East%20Lansing&address[state]=Michigan&address[postal]=48824&address[country]=United%20States&email=coursematerials%40mail.lib.msu.edu
^^ Is that the link that I will send to the customers to fill out?

Correct, that is the URL pre-fills those specific fields. When your customers open that link, the fields will contain the appropriate data.

Great thanks so much - this was super helpful.
Now another question for you. I don't know if this requires a new thread or not. IF I want to prepopulate fields based on a dropdown option, how do I do that?
For example, If someone picks PA then the address/phone number and name will auto populate to a Philadelphia Address whereas if they pick FL then that information will switch to FL address.
Thank You!

For that, you would use the "Update a form field value" condition":
http://www.jotform.com/help/286-How-to-Populate-Field-with-a-Value-from-another-Field
Though the guide is a bit outdated, the gist of it should be the same.
