    mobile version of form?

    Asked by Jan Lefkowitz  on November 16, 2015 at 04:40 PM

    Hi,

    My jotform displays properly when I use a desktop computer.  However, when I try to view the form on my iphone (version 5S), the images do not display and there is a big blank spot where the image is supposed to be.

    Are the jotforms not compatible with iphones/safari?  (or at least the images)

    Thank you!

    Hi,

    Jotform is compatible with iphone/safari. However, there are times that issues occur like fields misalignment on mobile view, etc.

    Can you try injecting this custom CSS code and see if it fix the issue?

    @media only screen and (max-width: 480px) {

    img.form-image {

    height: auto;

    max-width: 100%;

    }}

    To inject a custom CSS you can follow the guide: How to Inject Custom CSS Codes.

    We will wait for your response.

    Regards.

    Hi,

    I viewed your form using Chrome's device mode which was set to iphone 5 and I was able to replicate your issue.

    It seems to be a server issue. Can you try replacing your image URL with this URL - https://openmerchantaccount.com/img2/fornewpatientsonly.jpg and see if it solve the issue?

    We will wait for  your response.

    Regards.

    Ok, I think I understand now. I used the URL you gave me which is an image
    of a jotform logo. The image DID display on my iphone so that seems to have
    worked,
    Now how do I get my image to show up?
    Thank you!
    Sincerely,
    Jan Lefkowitz, D.C.

    Try saving the image to your computer, then using the "Upload Image File" function to upload the file directly, instead of using the URL.

    This will host the file on our servers and should allow for it to load properly on all devices.

    Hi that is what I originally did but then a jotform representative named
    Christian had suggested this: * It seems to be a server issue. Can you try
    replacing your image URL with this URL
    - https://openmerchantaccount.com/img2/fornewpatientsonly.jpg
    and see if it
    solve the issue?*
    *When I replaced my image with the suggested URL, it worked but I don't
    know how to get MY image to show up.*
    Sincerely,
    Jan Lefkowitz, D.C.

    When you replaced the image with that URL it should have been to the image, not to a JotForm logo.  When I checked your form, the image does indeed show up.

    The image doesn't show in some browsers due to being an https link hosted from a non-https site.  When I try to access the image directly, it is not shown:

    It seems to display properly when I use the Jotform upload link but not when I use the image link from your server:

    https://openmerchantaccount.com/img2/fornewpatientsonly.jpg

    Remove your copy of the image and leave the JotForm uploaded one.  Then set your form to mobile responsive:

    The resulting form loads on all browsers as well as having a mobile responsive image:

    You can clone the form to your account if you would like:

    I deleted my copy of the image and I used the jotform uploaded one as you
    recommended. I also changed to responsive.
    Unfortunately, it did not help in terms of viewing on an iphone. I still
    dont' see the image on the iphone. As always, it displays just fine when
    using a desktop computer.
    Also, when I changed to responsive it caused the text to overlap and become
    unreadable so I changed it back to non responsive for now.
    Please advise and thank you for trying to help.
    Sincerely,
    Jan Lefkowitz, D.C.

    Try this copy of your from on mobile to see if everything looks OK:

    https://form.jotform.com/53206301019946

    As far as I can tell, the image and the checkbox text should both be properly formatted.

    You can clone that copy if you would like:

    I simulated the safari browser and was able to replicate the situation it appears the spaces between the file names are causing the browser onto to load it properly and interprets it as a bad request.

    I renamed a copy of your file to exclude the spaces and was able to load properly.

    Kindly try re-uploading the same file but without spaces between the names then test the form again.
