Drop Down list depending on the value selected in a previous drop down list

    Hi there

In the address area, I have 2 fields with drop down lists: City and Suburb.

City shows all the values available. Then, depending on the city chosen by the user, the list of suburbs varies, showing only the suburbs included in that city.

What's the best way of doing so in JotForm?

    Cheers

    Hi,

I would suggest you to use Dynamic Dropdowns widget. You can find it here: http://widgets.jotform.com/widget/dynamic_dropdowns. A demo is provided here: http://form.jotformpro.com/form/43514646570961.

Do let us know if you need further assistance.

    Regards.

    Hi Chriistian

As suggested, I have used the dynamic dropdown widget in the form https://form.jotform.co/53276556492869

The form works fine but in the integrated Google Sheet, both fields come together in the same column 'City & Suburb'. How can I have that information stored in 2 different fields?

    Cheers

    Hi,

There is now way to split it in different fields, since both values are in the same field, if you want to get the values in different fields , you should use the selct fields and add some conditions, hide or show the Suburb field depending on the selection of the City field.

Take a look to my sample form, you can see the conditions I'm using :

Refer to this guide to clone a form :

    Hope that helps.

    Thanks.

Thanks Kevin! With this solution I have the suburb field more than once, depending on the number of cities. hmmmm, a workaround, I guess. Cheers

    Hi,

    You're welcome.

Yes, you have the City and Suburb in different fields, and you need to add a Suburb field for each City, i.e if you have 4 Cities, you have to add 4 Suburb fields.

That is the only way I could find to achieve what you want, but if you want can keep using the widget.

Let us know if you have more questions, we will be glad to assist you.
