How to change form ID?

    We have created an application form. We tested it. It creates form ID automatically. Its apparently a long number. We wanted it to have our own automated ID's.  It needs to start with letters NL followed by four digit number. For example NL5823, the next form ID will be NL5824 and so on. When people call us to find out about the form, we ask them for the ID which makes it easier for us to trace the form on our system.

    It is not possible to change formID, but you can change the form URL.

    You can do it from the Embed Form button on the Form Builder toolbar. See the screenshot below:

    @Rakeshk Are your referring to the form ID or the submission ID? If you meant the latter, please have a look at Add Custom Unique IDs to Your Form Submissions in the Advanced Features section of our user guide.

    Thank you for asking for clarification. Basically I need both - Form ID and Submission ID. 

    1. Form to be able to generate our ID and autimatically create subsequent new number. Like the feature you have using "Unique ID"

    2. That ID needs to be desplayed to us and the one who submitts the form - They need to be able to quote that ID to us so that we can trace the form. It would be great if there was a way to include the "Unique ID" in the "Thank you" form. Where we can state Thank you for submitting your form, here is your "Unique ID" please note that for future correspondance. 

    3. Form comes in PDF in the dropbox. But its very long number. Can that number be the same as "unique ID" otherwise we have to change it manually.

     

    I am experimenting at the moment to see how it works before we get the linguists to use the form. If it works then we will get the subscription and roll it out.

    The customized unique ID can be displayed in the thank you message. For the form in question, the tag for the customized unique submission ID is {applicationForm}. How do I know that? The tag can be found out by clicking "APPLICATION FORM ID" in the floating menu on the right of the "Compose Email" section of the notification:

    There's currently no way to change a form's ID.

    The note in that screenshot should have stated, "...Copy it to your clipboard and close the notification without saving it." You can then paste it to the thank you message from the clipboard.

    Thank you for your prompt reply. The image you have pasted is related to "Compose Email" instead of "Thank you" message that is generated after submitting the form. Is that same thing? Will it allow me to post Application ID on that?

    Appreciate if you can please clarif your last post relating to the note in the screen shot.

    I only posted that image to show where you can find out the tag that outputs the application form ID. If you insert that same tag into the thank you message, the application's ID will be displayed in the thank you message to the user.

    As to my penultimate post, I only meant that since you won't be able to open the thank you message without first closing the notification, you would have to first copy the tag to the clipboard. At any rate, it's not really important because anything that's copied is copied to the clipboard regardless.

    Thank you. Application ID works fine after "Thank you" submission.
