Please help, I can not figure this out.

Asked by Nebojsa on December 06, 2015 at 08:34 AM

I have some problems with my form -Fiat/Alfa/Lancia orig- .

Form works like this : in text box 2)Enter Part number you have to enter part# from car radio . Once is entered it will show picture and another text box where you need to enter Serial #.....

I set up all the field rules correctly and everything is working ok.

My problem is that if you enter part# that is not in my database it still shows text field 5)Serial number .

made database 10) All Blaupunkt part #, so I need a rule that will do this

    IF           2) enter part #

    STATE    is not equal to

    TARGET  ???

VALUE    ???  (it should be all the part numbers from dropdown field 10) All Blaupunkt part# )

    110) This part # is not available for online decoding

I tried something but it slows down form response drastically.

    Hope you understand me.

    Thanks a lot!

    Thank you for contacting us.

If I understand, you want to show the serial number field only if the Part Number field is correct, I think to do it , you need to add each number in a condition, then compare the entered number in the Part field and then show the serial field only if the entered number is correct.

Now, if you have a lot of Part Numbers, I would suggest you to get the Source Code of your form, then you will have to connect your form with your Database and use some Javascript codes to do the validation you need.

If you are not familiarized with Database nor Javascript, you should add all the codes in a condition in the Form Builder.

    Hope this helps.

Let us know if you have more questions, we will be glad to help you.

Ok thanks , I don't know how to connect database with Javascript. When I add each part number in conditions ( it takes a long time, but that is not a problem), it slows down the form very much.

When you type in the numbers in -Enter Part number field- every number it takes few seconds to show up. I guess it is doing some kind of search ?

    Thanks anyway for your help!

Was the form http://www.jotformpro.com/form/53335721032950 embedded on a website?

Can you share to us the URL of the website if it was?

So far, using only the direct URL of the form http://www.jotformpro.com/form/53335721032950 did not show the same lag or slow down in filling in the form.

The problem could be happening only on embedded form.
